Lighting in a Muse Concert by admin

One concert that really wowed me was Muse and it was not just because they played so well, but because of the light show they put on simultaneously. I recall one song in particular, ‘Feeling Good’, which begins quite quietly before a massive drop occurs. For the first half where Matt Belamey is playing the piano and singing alone, there was just one small blue light focussed on him. Everything else was dark, including the audience as it was night time. Everyone waited with baited breaths as he played alone, his voice captivating the crowds. Then the drop. Suddenly his voice became stronger and the drums and guitars came in accompanied by massive white flood lights illuminating the crowd.

The lighting simply made Muse one of the best performances of the entire festival. The transition from the small blue light to the massive white floodlights would have been impressive alone, even had it not been accompanied by instruments. I am not sure if Muse employed gu10 led light bulbs or some other ones, but either way, it was an absolutely amazing and effective use of lighting.
