Developments in VOIP by admin

Voice Over Internet Protocol has come a long way since it was first conceived. There have been many historical milestones in the creation of VOIP. It was first conceived in 1974 by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers who published a paper that was titled “A Protocol for Packet Network Interconnection”. It was here that Voice Over Internet Protocol was first conceived. Internet Protocol was described in RFC 791 in the year 1981 and in 1985 the National Science Foundation kindly commissioned the creation of NSFNET. All the developments in the creation of Voice Over Internet Protocol had to await Alon Cohen and Lior Haramaty who were to invent Voice Over Internet Protocol in 1994.

The first commercial Internet phone software, called VocalTec, was released in 1995 and shortly after Microsoft, Radvision, and Intel commenced standardization activities for Voice Over Internet Protocol communications systems. Finally in 1999, the Session Initiation Protocol was released, called RFC 2543. From then on, Voice Over Internet Protocol has progressed in leaps and bounds to the stage where it at today! Who knows what the future may bring?
